Midland Art Crawl: A Project of Midland AF
Our newest project finally comes to light, Friday June 3 across multiple local venues in Midland, Texas. The Midland Art Crawl brings together artists, local business, and art lovers alike for an unforgettable evening.
What is the Midland Art Crawl?
While Midland, TX might look black and gold from the outside, the roots of the town are colorful and creative in nature. The art scene in town is far from hidden and takes face as multiple art associations such as Midland Palette Club, The Arts Council of Midland, Midland Arts Association, and smaller groups of artists that have formed over time.
Midland AF’s newest project, the Midland Art Crawl aims to bring these groups together along with those who are hiding their talents and are not associated with these associations. For one night a quarter, Midland’s local artists, businesses, and community can gather for an evening appreciating and admiring the craft of other locals while having a memorable and fun night. We are bringing the best of Midland, TX local artists, and businesses for an unforgettable evening.
Artists
The Midland Art Crawl is open to all local artists in the Midland area to participate and showcase their art.
Art nowadays cannot be confined to just a single definition or art form. Whether you consider the traditional type of paint to canvas to be true art or live art like dance as true art, the Midland Art Crawl is open to all art forms and media.
The Midland Art Crawl will include many of your favorite artists from around town as well as artists that will be your new favorite after seeing their talents showcased for an evening. While many will have their art displayed, Crawlers will be able to experience artists at work with live painting demonstrations, dance, music, and even literature at work. See something you love? Some of the artists that are exhibiting will have their art for sale.
For artists that are interested in participating, the process is simple. Fill out the Art Crawl Application, pay the one-time application fee, and get ready for an evening full of fun, art, and community. You will then have a table at one of the host venues where you are free to showcase your art and talents.
Venues
Midland AF has always been about local business. It was obvious that we make them an integral part of the workings of the Midland Art Crawl.
Rather than holding the Art Crawl at a single venue, the Midland Art Crawl will be just that, a crawl around Midland. Midland’s local businesses are welcome to participate in this quarterly evening as stops at the Crawl or host venues.
A map will be released before the event with all of the stops and what their offerings will be. Some venues might offer live music, while some will offer food trucks and other activities to join in on.
As a participant, you have a choice in which stops you visit. If you’re crawling with family, friends, or both, you’ll definitely find a venue that will suit all of you and make for a fun evening out on the town.
The venues do not have to be any sort of art-centered business in order to participate. Of course, Midland’s galleries, studios, and other art-related spots will be on the map as featured venues, but we want to see other businesses participate too.
To join the Midland Art Crawl as a host venue or a featured venue, fill out the Midland Art Crawl venue application, pay the application fee, and get ready for a fun and art-filled evening.

Community
This event is free and open to the public each and every Art Crawl. A map of all of the Art Crawl venues will be released before the Crawl so you will know which spots to drop by on the night of the Crawl. You are welcome to visit all of the venues or just one, the evening is open for you to enjoy.
The Midland Art Crawl will be an opportunity for the public to get out and explore Midland while also supporting local businesses and local artists.
