The Bush Family Home State Historic Site will be holding their 2nd annual Pumpkin Walk on Wednesday, October 29, from 5:00-7:30 pm. Individuals, schools, businesses, and organizations can decorate a pumpkin either by carving or painting and enter it to be viewed by the entire community. There will be prizes for scariest, most creative, and best overall. This year there will be separate categories for children and adults. They will be accepting pumpkins from Saturday, October 25 to 4 pm Wednesday, October 29.

“We had so many great pumpkins last year, like someone put candy corn on one to make it look like a pufferfish! There really is no limit to how you can decorate!” says educator Erin Frigo.

The Bush Family Home State Historic Site is located at 1412 West Ohio St. in Midland. The hours for the home are: Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; the last tour begins at 4:15 p.m. The Bush Family Home joined the Texas Historical Commission in 2023 and is one of 41 sites in the state of Texas.
