Veterans Gravel Grind 2023
Veteran’s Gravel Grind 2023
Veteran's Gravel Grind presented by VIM Racing. Proceeds help fund the Trail Warrior Project a non-profit organization that helps get veterans out bike-packing.
This is an event for the cycling community near and far and we hope to get racers, riders, bike-packers, and adventure riders out for some fun on gravel and support our veterans!
It's open to everyone, not just Veterans! It's called Veterans Gavel Grind because the proceeds go to Trail Warrior Project (A non-profit Veteran Bike Pack group) and it's on Veterans Day weekend.
Veterans and First Responders get 50% off registration on any distance, discount applied during checkout.
This is a Non-Profit event and all proceeds go to support the Trail Warrior Project.

8:00 AM mass start for all categories!
Rules - It's gravel but we have to have some rules!!
Must be older than 13 to ride/race 13-16 must be accompanied by a guardian.
Important - These roads are open public roads and as such you must obey the traffic signs. Watch out for traffic both on the blacktop and on the gravel.

Friday Night Live - Woofstock
Friday Night Live. November 10th, The Destination in association with Lone Star Sanctuary for Animals team up to host a benefit for our fury friends! Come show your support to a great cause. There will be groovy live music, by the Locomotives, 50/50 raffle, games, costume parade and photographer.
VIP tickets (include 1 drink and 1 meal) benefiting Lonestar Sanctuary for Animals may purchased.
Doors open at 7 pm, music starts at 8 pm.
Bar service and a food truck vendor are always available on site.
Veterans Gravel Grind 2023: Shake Out Practice Runs
Shakeout Ride: Race Prep
VGG is just around the corner and there no better way to finish your race prep than with a proper shakeout ride with the crew! Energy City Bikes will be hosting 2 shake out ride time slots at 2 & 4pm on Friday November 10th at a chill social pace!
2pm Friday shakeout ride will be the shorter 14 mile route and we’ll do the longer 24 mile course at 4pm. Both will give riders a good feel for the course and the longer shakeout ride is identical to the quarter grind course which is the start and finish for all the courses on the menu.
All the shakeout rides will start from the Recreation Hall area within the State Park and the demo bikes and packet pickup will also be there.
We will have some Lasagna in the oven for dinner for everyone who joins us on Friday. We look forward to seeing y’all there.
An email will be sent out to all participants who have signed up containing the Shakeout ride and race routes.

@energycitybikes will have a demo fleet of @iamspecialized_road Diverge STR carbon gravel bikes that deliver “compliance without compromise” 1 of each size 52, 54, 56 & 58. They will be first come first serve so come by early and take one out for a spin starting after 12pm. Don’t have a gravel bike? The same demo fleet will be available for a day rental on race day. Rescue Runners
Rescue Runners is a volunteer program designed to recruit people to help walk or run shelter dogs. The shelter environment can be a stressful place, so getting the dogs out for exercise provides enrichment, and allows for improvement in social skills. The outing allows for dogs to showcase their personality outside of the kennel, helping to promote fostering and adoptions.
Cruise for a Cause Car Show
Join us for our 3rd annual Cruise for a Cause Car Show! On Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Midland County Horseshoe Pavilion from 10 am until 4 pm. Trophies will be awarded for best in class: car, truck, overlander, bike, special interest, rat rod, best paint, best interior, best engine, client’s choice, and people’s choice. Bring the family and enjoy the kids zone, trunk or treating, costume contest, food trucks, resource booths, and so much more. The entry fee is $40 per entry and general admission is free. All proceeds will go to our cause, providing support and resources to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Midland Humane Coalition is excited to announce our theme for our 12th Annual Furr Ball: 101 DONATIONS
Inspired by some of our 4-legged friends who always look sharp in black & white and wear their spots proudly, we invite you to celebrate the night in black & white in honor of our furry friends.
WHAT IS MHC'S FURR BALL?
The Furr Ball is an annual fundraiser hosted by Midland Humane Coalition since 2010. It's our biggest fundraiser, which raises crucial funds for our pet rescue operations. Every year, we welcome 200+ guests to this event and most of them keep coming back year after year.
MHC’s mission is to rescue healthy, adoptable pets from euthanasia and find them furr-ever homes.

Pink in the Park 2023
Gifts of Hope presents our 3rd Annual Pink in the Park celebration! Honoring Breast Cancer and all those affected by it in any stage. Join us at Centennial Park in downtown Midland to support Breast Cancer Survivors, Fighters, and Meta-Thrivers, as well as the friends, family and caretakers of Breast Cancer patients.
We will honor and celebrate with a special Breast Cancer Survivor Speaker, Victory lap & Ribbon wall, Survivor Fashion Show, Local vendors & Raffle items, food trucks including Glazy Day Sweets, El Taco Madre, and Scooter Dog + free ice cream from Marble Slab! Along with photo opportunities by a professional photographer, interactive activities for all ages and stages, National Anthem performed by breast cancer survivors, this year's Pink in the Park T-shirt, goodie bags, and so many vendors to check out!

Beginning Friday, October 13, 2023 with the Kid’s Bar-B-Que competition, the weekend kicks off right! Event time is 5:45 PM-7 PM.
Cook’s Meeting will start promptly at 5:45, Cooking will start at 6 PM, and turn in is at 7 PM sharp.

Join us in supporting Spectrum of Solutions as we bring hope and make a positive impact in our community. This year every registered player will receive a hat and sleeve of golf balls, enjoy complimentary food, beer, and live music, participate in fun contests, and have the opportunity to shoot a golf ball out of a modified AR-15.
