NED Talks
Senior Land Representative – Chevron MCBU
“A brief tour through West Texas History discussing how the raw untamed land that once was Texas was divvied out to American settlers to create what is now one of the most prolific and productive wealth generators in world.”
Patrick grew up and spent his life in the Permian Basin. He graduated from the University of Texas Permian Basin in 1997, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications, and attended Baptist Seminary through the BH Carrol Theological Institute, earning a Master of Arts in Religion in 2018. While earning his undergraduate degree, he worked 15-years as full-time police officer for both the Midland Police Department and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. While earning his advanced degree, he worked full-time as a Landman in the Permian Basin.
During his time with Chevron, Patrick has supported asset development of the Midland Basin and is a legacy team member for Chevron’s Midland Central Corridor (MCC) shale development. Patrick’s wide-ranging experience in land development is being relied on outside Chevron’s asset development by assignment of various special projects where specialized and advanced land development knowledge is a key driver to success.

Cosmic Conversations: Ego vs. Enlightenment
Cosmic Conversations: Ego vs. Enlightenment
Friday, July 18th | 7:30 PM
Earth, Body, & Soul
Join us for this month’s Cosmic Conversations, where we’ll dive deep into one of the most powerful inner dynamics we face on the spiritual path: Ego vs. Enlightenment.
Is the ego your enemy, or can it become an ally on the journey to higher consciousness?
Together, we’ll explore how to recognize the voice of the ego, understand its roots in fear and separation, and learn how to gently shift into the vibration of soul awareness, compassion, and spiritual truth.
Expect open-minded discussion, intuitive insights, and soul-led wisdom as we talk about:
The difference between ego-driven reactions and enlightened responses
How ego can mask itself as spiritual superiority or “false light”
Practices to return to your center and realign with your higher self
How to hold space for both your humanity and your divinity
Whether you’re just beginning your spiritual awakening or deep in your journey of self-discovery, this gathering invites all seekers to share, reflect, and connect.
Bring your thoughts, experiences, and questions—this is a space of shared exploration where intuition gathers, spirit speaks, and sacred truths are revealed.
Free to attend. RSVP encouraged as space is limited.

1950s Summer Movie Series- Dracula
The Bush Family Home State Historic Site announces a new program coming this summer. Four movies from the 1950s will be shown in the backyard of the home. This year’s theme is monster movies. All guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and snacks. Each event will be from 6:30-9:00 pm.
During the series, the dates, topics and speakers will be:
June 10 – The Thing from Another World (1951)
June 24 – Creature from The Black Lagoon (1954)
July 8 – Curse of Frankenstein (1957)
July 22 – Dracula (1958)
Activites associated with each movie will be available at each movie screening. Those include:
• An activity and craft about flying saucers using paper plates, frisbees, and a boomerang for The Thing from Another World.
• A water activity and fossil craft using air dry clay for the Creature from The Black Lagoon.
• An experiment and a craft for the Curse of Frankenstein.
• A movie poster design activity for Dracula.
Movie going was a major social event, with many people attending theaters regularly. Because tv ownership went up in the 1950s, theaters added to the experience with the introduction of cinerama, 3D, and other widescreen technologies. Even George W. Bush would ride his bike downtown Midland to see cowboy serials and science fiction movies.
“The Summer Movie Series is meant to showcase the entertainment in theaters while the Bush family lived in Midland in the 1950s,” said Site Educator Chase Kirby. “It will be fun for the whole family, young or old.”
